Pretty Kari

Chris and the Fountain
This is Chris Eaton, Kari's boyfriend. This is a nice picture of him from at the F&M Bank Fountain from last years (2009) prom. Kari's prom (Memorial High School) is just a few days away and I'm anxious to get several great pictures of Kari and Chris again this year. There are a couple of other good shots from the 2009 prom at "Jealous of the Statue" and "Goofy Kari and Christopher" . Check back next week for new prom pictures.
Epcot at Night
http://bradrosenthal.com This is from Celeste's and my vacation to Disneyworld back in November of 2008. We were exiting Epcot after the fireworks show and the lights changed on the Epcot giant ball. I love how it goes from orange to blue then to the dark black sky.

Calven has been getting letters from the Kansas Jayhawks, Stanford and other smaller schools. It's all very exciting! Summer Pride starts the week after school let's out. Calven is scheduled to attend camps in Norman and at the University of Kansas. http://bradrosenthal.com .

Decided to start blogging again...
It's been almost a year since I've updated my blog and I've missed it. Just an update for those who are wondering, I'm no longer with StoneHenge having left in November. I'm looking for a position currently, and that includes working at developing my own company, Failsafe Hazmat Compliance.

Jealous of the Statue

I love my new lens!
I'm not sure who this guy is, but he's one of the receivers for the Tulsa Memorial Chargers. I was at Summer Pride practice about a month ago and got several great shots with my new camera lens! Look at the clarity of the moving ball (and person for that matter) and then the nice soft consistent blur of the background.
Louvre Snapshot
I wouldn't call this art by a long shot but it is extremely cool to show the scale and enormity of the Louvre. Celeste is not so far from me in the picture, but look over to the right, there is a man walking and you get the idea of how big things really are. By the way, the crowds are huge, they just don't walk this far over, most of them congregate at the glass pyramid which is behind me (from the perspective of how I took the picture).
Inca Ruins
Here is a picture of a long lost Inca Ruin that I discovered on one of my many expeditions to Mexico and South America. Fact is, I like how the orange building looked against the blue sky. The moon is cool too.
Rainey's 42nd Birthday

Goofy Kari and Christopher
My favorite picture I took today was this candid of Kari and Christopher acting silly. It turned out nice with the statue in the background.

Look!!! My duck is back!!!
This is the third year in a row this duck has built a nest in my hydrangeas. Last year only one of her eggs hatched, the year before that 3 hatched and we had to help them up the street to the creek. My very first blog post was this duck from 2 years ago.

Tomb of the Unknowns
It's been a while since I've blogged regularly, but I think now that the weather is nice, I'll get the camera out and start again. If you have thoughts, I'd appreciate your comments.

Henry and the Puppies
We had to babysit (dogsit) John's two puppies. Henry has never really seen another dog, but he thought it was totally awesome that the puppies would chase him.

The Elusive Deek
About 17 years ago, Steve Carson and I were bored and decided to follow Dick Carson and Tiffany as they took a walk around LaFortune Park. Of course, they had no idea that we were doing it, which made it so much more fun. The footage sat on an old VHS tape for better than a decade, but recently I rediscovered it and edited it down in iMovie. The results are the wildlife documentary "The Elusive Deek".

Musée de l'Armée
The Musée de l'Armée is a museum at Les Invalides in Paris, France. While Celeste and I were touring, once again, I stood still in the same spot for some time waiting on the instant that no one would be in my picture. Even though this passage way looks deserted, there are people all around.

Weather Worn
I have been looking through my pictures from Celeste's and my Paris trip from a few years ago. I found several pictures that I'm pleased with that I'll be posting over the next couple of weeks. Several of the pictures I'll post are gargoyles from the top of Cathédrale Notre Dame.
The first is this image of two very weather worn statues. It struck me as odd that some of the gargoyles held up very well and others were so warn by time. My best guess is that some face into oncoming weather more than others. If you have a thought, or better, actually know the answer, post a comment.

Calven in Flight
I'm sitting here watching Monday Night Football (Packers vs. Bears) so I thought another football picture might be fun. Here is one of Calven tackling a Webster player. I was pleased with this action shot.

On a recent flight, I had my camera and happened to notice a beautiful sunset in the distance. (Note the tip of the wing on the right edge of the photo.)

2008 Turkey Bowl
Here is a music video of the highlights (wow, that's a stretch) of this years Turkey Bowl football game. This year the game was generational, the youngsters against the old men. The old men won! This is a tradition started by Dick Carson and Steve Carson (both of Reptilicus fame), and to my recollection this is the 31st annual game. Of course the sound track could be by none other than the late great Maynard Ferguson, the track is "Admiral's Horn" from the album "Storm".

Holly Ball

If you're gonna, this is the one...
My friend Rainey recoils at the notion of drinking from a public fountain. In fact, she didn't even want to ride in the car with me once, because I did. Something about me having too many germs. That said, if you're ever gonna drink out of a public fountain, this is the one you'd want to do it from. These are standard drinking fountains in the Mid-Contentment Building where I work.
My Office View....
Not the best picture in the whole world but it does give you an idea of where I am. My office is in the Mid Continent Tower on 4th and Boston. I look out over Boston to the west.

Beauty in Desolation
I took this picture this fall at Keystone Lake. I was taken by how dead and tangled everything was, but it was still very beautiful. Also, it's freaking Monday.

Turkey Bowl - GENERATIONS
Here are several pictures from this years annual Turkey Bowl. Participants include such notables as Dick Carson, Steve Carson, Jeff Howard, Blaine Bunch and Calven Rosenthal. This year was the Generations Game. Old Men vs. the Kids: Old Men won!!!
